Fono Samoa 2010 - Finau aua le fiu!

Fono Samoa has come to an end today. We've been richly blessed with 3 days of wonderful opportunities to fellowship and learn about how tupulaga can persevere and not quit in today's world. Finau, aua le fiu Tupulaga! Thanks go out to all the leaders, tupulaga and organisations like FLEP, 'The Project', M.I.T and David Tua who presented and shared during our three days. All your messages about persevering and not quitting came through so clearly for us. Fa'afetai, fa'afetai lava, ia saga fa'amanuia atu le Atua ia te outou!
Tupulaga - it is the prayer of your leaders that this time next year, God willing we will be sharing our stories of perseverance at our next Fono.

This movie shows you only some of the fantastic experiences we shared during the 3 days of Fono. You are very welcome to post a comment and leave an encouraging message for your brothers and sisters. It's all part of helping one another to 'Finau, aua le fiu!'

  2. It was awesome! I loved how we all got along well with each other. Even though there were many of us, we still managed to meet with most if not all who were present. I loved the way we could all sing and enjoy our Lord whenever we could. At Pt England, church, marquee, the hall - wherever! All those who presented helped to reinforce this year's theme of 'Finau, aua le fiu' - God's so good!
God's name be praised for all that we've enjoyed this week. Persevere Tupulaga - don't quit. God wants you make it! Ia soifua ona o Iesu!

I taimi uma lava - E LELEI LE ATUA!

Our bus arrived safely back in Polilua about 3:30 this morning, still buzzing from the Fono albeit a lil tired from the journey (Thank you God for your safe passage & protection). This was my first Fono but God willing - it won't be my last!! It incorporated two things I love...Fellowship & Love for God and Pride of being Samoan!
Many, many thanks to the hosting Matagaluega - Aukilani i Sasa'e! Malo le onosa'i, Malo le galue, Malo le FINAU!! You were like a well-oiled machine, that kept going and going and giving and giving! Massive respect & love for ALL who helped organise this event, from the front people (Yes you Gary lol)to behind the scenes -Awesome job, well done! Ia saga faamuniua le Atua ia te outou ona o tiute ma faiva faa-le-ekalesia. O ou mama na!
Highlights for me - Pioneer Children, TUPULAGA RALLY (For real, we sang the songs all the way home on the bus), Powerpoint highlights of the whole Fono shown at the Tupulaga Devotion on Saturday!!
Much love to all tupulaga P.I.P.C i Niu sila nei - FINAU, 'AUA LE FIU. Ieova i le tatou va xx

  7. Awesome video for those of us who couldnt make the fono. We must pay homage to our parents who really worked hard for us that we may be lucky enough to have a place to worship and learn about God. That video really emphasized how we as tupulaga need to really appreciate all their hard work and never forget their sacrifice! Seeing Rev Sio on that video reminded me to be thankful.
Well done to the team who organised the Fono, awesome effort and I look forward to being able to participate in the next Fono.

  10. "How wonderful it is, how pleasant, for God's people to live together in harmony!" Praise God for the work of the PIC - truly we remember with much joy and a tinge of sadness our beloved PIC family in Christ. May God Spirit continue to move and bless every witness made in His Name. It indeed wonderful to see so many familiar faces. May you all walk in the SONshine of our LORD and SAVIOUR - His Name is JESUS!

  11. I write on this blog as one very proud product of our church. What I witnessed during fono was the mighty hand of God at work in so many wonderful ways. The organisation of the host matagaluega allowed for our church family to fellowship, interact and build relationships with each other, and in amongst this a grand opportunity to Praise & Worship him with truckloads of energy and freedom to express our love for Him....great work on the programme content and having people assigned to various roles, pat yourselves on the back.
Really good to catch up with old faces from what used to be the Auckland Regional Youth and those from Youth Assembly in years gone by.
Thank you to our ministers and leadership for continually opening the way for new ideas and new visions so that we can move ahead together. We honour our past as our forefathers work has not been in vain, I remember the enormous work and with fond memories the late Rev Leuatea Sio (uncle Bob) who was a visionary, mentor and advocate for our people.
Much love to all our wider family who are out there doing His work throughout the world, sons and daughters of P.I.C, man so much to be proud of.
I look forward to future Fono's, look forward to once again be in the company of our great church.

Fono Samoa 2010, job well done Aukilani Sasa'e...God's work deserves nothing but excellence and that's what we experienced last weekend. Excellent team work, from those responsible for not so high profile and less-liked tasks to those who fronted and ran the programmes. People performed their allocated tasks with purpose which helped with ensuring the Fono ran smoothly. The purpose which was reminded through a clip shown at the Tupulaga programme of the pain and suffering that our Lord and Saviour had to go through to allow us to have Fono's and why we must remain in the body of Christ and to not stop there but to minister the message to others. Thank you again Annie, Ray, Gary, Aloema and rest of your team. I commend you for your pursuit of excellence for God's work and look forward to the growth of the Fono and especially the tupulaga from what you guys have set. Fa'amalo lava le tauivi mo mea lelei ma ia saga viia pea le Atua.

  22. Wow. How fortunate we are to witness God's glory and fullness through His wonderful and faithful servants. Praise be to our Heavenly Father.

To the team from Sasa'e, you guys have set the bar very high for the Fono's to come... and as Peka has mentioned above, our Lord deserves nothing but the best, just as Sasa'e had demonstrated to us all.

Praise God for keeping such inspirational and dedicated leaders within our PIC church. The future of God's work within our churches certainly looks positive.

Blessings to our brothers and sisters from Sasa'e - from the leaders who took the reins at the forefront, to the poor dudes who kept watch at the gates (and around the streets) thru out the entire weekend.

    Keep smiling for Jesus.

  23. I would only repeat all the good things everybody have already written about the Fono Samoa programme/s for this year, 2010. Everything was immaculately planned and executed, and always with a smile :)

    I HAVE A DREAM
    HOW LONG.....
    NOT LONG.....

The world would be a much better place if it was run by PIC people. lol. Cleaner and healthier, thats for sure. ;)

It was definitely a privilege being part of this years fono, and I look forward to what the next years team will bring to the table. However, as with most of our gatherings, its more about the fellowship and love that is shared during these times, and there was a lot of that going around last week.

Malo Lava le faamalosi ma le finau, Sasa'e. You guys and girls, have been amazing, and deserve all the praise you are receiving.

Thats my 2sene. haha. But i am looking for the other footage that Annie said would be on here. Directions would be much appreciated. :)

  25. Talofa Lava P.I.P.C family!

What a wonderful thing to be able to look back at the week that God's Spirit touched His people. A BIG thanks to Annie and the team for the awesome footage made available to us. It's so funny to look back at the "green grass" and hear that there was an "est in the negg"...I think it was from Wellington too...peace..

Well, I believe you are all back to the normal routine of your busy lives and no doubt the fono experience will have helped to strengthen your belief that God IS working close to, with and in us as local churches and national body of the P.I.P.C church. We are very thankful for all of your positive feedback and it is rewarding to the ears of the hosting matagaluega who have also worked very hard leading up to, and throughout that week. And as many of you have nailed it, "IT IS ALL GOD." God through His Word, God through His music, God through His dance, God through His Church and God through His people. It was an awesome time to spend with you all. And yes, God is also in the more low key events of everyday life, so keep persevering in your suffering and trouble and challenge, don't give up! Finau, aua le fiu.

Thanks also to our matagaluega reps whom I have the privilege of sitting with and discussing the needs and concerns of our tupulaga. Your responsibility is not easy though you continue to put yourselves forward for the good of our youth. Fa'amalo atu. Hope to see you soon. To our supportive parents in Christ from each church, thank you for your continuous regard and consideration for the tupulaga. In being present and coming alongside your youth is a great show of support for us all. Thank you for remembering us. And to our parents...we love you. Our theme has been echoed over the generations through your many teachings to us your children and so we hope to continue this for our children. To our P.I.P.C tupulaga, we hope to meet again very soon, and as believers of God, and as a community of faith in Christ, the BEST is always "yet to come."

    P.S Our SPONSORS: THANKYOU!
P.S.S (Tee) I am now putting my clothes in my suitcase...
