Ta'aloga Tupulaga 2

More of the action! We didn't catch all of the closing speeches but here's a few points that were covered.
*importance of such events in the growth of parishes and the individual
*getting to know new members of the PIC
*fellowship not only on the sporting field but on the sidelines and waiting times in the sun and tents
*being aware of the huge - talented - unique body we have further than our own part of town
*networks and connecting to others - important part in attracting and nurturing God's children and youth
*the laughter which is good for the soul...and much more!

Because im a p.i.c child born in the late 80's ive never experienced athletics etc at games, but still remember kilikiti, volley, touch and netball, just as I was old enough to be a potential player lol they came to an end but iam so thankful to God that these games are here and that people my generation will be able to experience and really appreciate what older generations had before us and also understand the importance of it! 4. Awesome blog Annie. Thank you for your time and efforts in capturing such a blessed day. Was momentum for some of us from PIC Newton as Grey Lynn Park was where it all started with EFKS games with savali (marching) competitions before PIC games started. What memories. Even the weather did not deter teams from leaving the park instead a dance challenge from each tent that ended in front of the komiti tent seemed to chase the rain away...thanks for the moves Saute. Pray for direction for this long-awaited event as this may be the beginning of many more games..God willing. Thanks to all involved, from organisers to helpers, supporters and especially our parents who were there to support and most importantly to supply lunch...jokes...
    God Bless

I love your insight to comments made about the games - YES it was done to START the ball rolling and to see what TUPULAGA want in the future. Hopefully this is a start to many more years of fellowship among our PIC churches, not just tupulaga but our PARENTS like the yesteryears!! 7. Awesome days. I liked playing and meeting new people that are now my friends. One of my favourite parts of this sports days was playing touch. I enjoyed it because it was quick, active and challenging. I also got to learn about how Samoan people carry themselves in sports - cheers at the end of games. I got to play my very first game of Kilikiti!! My favourite part was fielding, you have to stay alert and watch that ball! I'm looking forward to the next round of games. It's not about the prizes it's about having fun with different people. That has to be more important to God - more than prizes and coke bottles. Let's do it again Matu!

  8. PRAISE THE LORD for his name has been Lifted to Hights of no return. These PIC Taalogas have been rekindled and it would have been from a committee who have the same VISION as the one great Legend Rev.Leuatea Iusitini Sio had back in the early 1970's where it was birthed to bring our pacific Island people together through athletics, sports, marching purposly to fellowship and enjoy their Samoan Culture from challenges in lapes, siva,(dance & song) and of course a faaluma (jester) who would bring laughterand Grey Lynn park would be full of "LAUGHING SAMOANS" back then what momentums engraved in the hearts of many to this day. A project well organized FAAFETAI FAAFETAI FAAFETAI LAVA ia faamanuia Le Atua mo outou uma PIC Matagaluega.
